Garam Chai-How spicy Madam ??

Dear Foodies,

Thats how spicy it is :)
Bee n Jai came up with this ingenious way of incorporating our dear little fiery chilli in the one place it would have never thought of ending up in,a cup of Chai. Garam Chai or Hot Chai now has a different meaning, thanks to them :P I could not wait until tomorrow to try it. It is 2:00am here and I am sipping this wonderful cup of tea. God knows when I am going to sleep now !

I used a green chilli equal in size to the one shown, and used the same method mentioned in their recipe here but skipped the ginger as my tea masala has enough of it. The method is just the way I usually make my tea and the green chilli was a surprise guest. It did not add direct heat but you will surely feel it in your throat as you enjoy your tea. The heat is not the kind which makes you gulp water by the bottle-fulls, but that which makes you look forward to the next sip. I guess I was also lucky in the size of chilli I used, I had absolutely no clue how it would turn out when I dropped it in the water :))

Enjoy

Here is my previous post on tea, its a masala tea made from fresh ingredients instead of tea masala.

Jeez! Keep the noise down, will ya?! I heard your racket all the way over the plains!

Chilli in your chai is like a quick fix - no need for those deep fried pakodas! Will put it in the morning chai for my husband tomorrow and watch him leap several feet in the air. :-D

Now theres a reason to wake up early tomorrow :)) Live cam available ?? As for me, I hope I get some sleep atleast !! Live cam available ??

Arrey! If they slept through the banging of pots, they won't hear me!

As for livecam, he fought with my camcorder the other day - for hours and got it to work as a webcam. Why, you might ask. To show my daughter's plantar warts to my sister at a higher resolution. People set up webcams for all kinds of reasons, we do it for warts. Seriously.

Some people don't sleep and don't let others sleep.

What can I tell you? Do I complain or should I be grateful? I stumbled out of bed to dash around madly and put together a gift for the teacher as today is the last day of school. And as I wrote the thank you note, a steaming hot cup of tea was put down next to me. I think he reads your blog. Hmmmph!

I am grateful. I am grateful. I want piping hot tea like that every day!

Dear Priya,
Must tell you the tea cups look good! I also liked the chilli twist in J&B's recipe. Thanks for making a reference to it. I remember years ago, Someone served me a glass of rose syrup (diluted with chilled water) and spiced it with a chilli. It was awesome, and when the rim of the tumbler is steeped in salt, even better.
