Here are a few photos my mother sent me last week after the Varalakshmi Vratam at our home on August 4th.
Goddess Lakshmi fully decked with jewels and flowers. The alankaram has been done this very same way every year.

Clockwise: Idli, Sundal,Pulihora,Rice,Coconut Burfi,Sweet Pongal,Vada,Dahi vada and dal in the center
You can also spot milk,coconut water and assorted fruits

Beautiful Girl.
In my house we do puja and my mom decorate Lakshmi with jewelery,flowers but we will not out kalasam only idol and it was really a great festive day with full day busy in arranging godess ohhh.
End of the day food with lots of varities and tambhulam to all ladies.
This time i made only 3 varities but mom's are great to do in big quantities.
We will do the same way FOR "krishnastami" with UooNJAL .great those days where all the family members stay together and celebrate.
